If you have a website, chances are you want to display your email address so that your visitors can contact you. It's a great plan, but there's one problem: putting your email address on a web page is just inviting spammers to send you bank scams and Viagra offers!
There are a few common ways of displaying email addresses, including:
- Typing it directly, like person@example.com
- Making it an image
- Separating it, like person AT example DOT com
All three seem like good ideas, but in this day and age, spam bots can read your page and pick out your email from each of those methods. Yes, they can decipher your email from an image!
What you need to do is have a script that can take some words and variables and put together an email address. That way, spam bots don't see an email address, but your visitors do!
